Little Steps Introduction

What

Little steps is my free weekly newsletter

Each week you will receive one simple diet or lifestyle tip which has the potential to significantly improve your health

As well as a simple overview of what you can do, I’ll also explain why I’ve chosen this, including scientific evidence

Little steps will be categorised so you can pick out those that are relevant to you

In the coming weeks, the focus of these little steps will be immune support and building stress resilience

why

Weekly support & inspiration that is accessible to everyone.

Not everyone is able to or is ready to embark on a journey of one-to-one consultations, and this is especially true at the moment, whilst we are living in such uncertain times.  My aim with these little steps is to provide support and inspiration that is accessible to everyone.  I hope that it provides a little weekly focus and reassurance on the steps you can take to support your health as we navigate our way through these unchartered waters.

You are most likely to make changes and stick to them when they are broken down into small, achievable steps.

In his autobiographical book, Eat & Run, world-leading ultramarathon runner Scott Jurek refers to this mindset when tackling almost unthinkable race distances and mountain ascents,

“The mountain reminded me that races are not run all at once, that the only way to survive an ultra was piece by piece. So I ran Mount Si piece by piece.”

Life is busy and your time is precious. Each week I will share the simplest and smallest step that will make the biggest difference.

I’ve learnt to be discerning and deliberate about the steps I take to improve my health and those I share with others. Life is busy and there’s a huge amount of information (and misinformation) out there. It’s easy then to feel overwhelmed and end up doing nothing. Each little step will be selected because of its potential for positive impact on your health. And each will be grounded in evidence, not hearsay or fiction.

Understanding why you are doing something increases your motivation to actually do it.

Friedrich Nietszche said, “he who has a strong enough why can bear almost any how”.

This is so very true. That’s why I’ll always share my reasoning and the evidence that sits underneath each little step.

Let’s stay curious, open and flexible

From time to time, there’ll be bonus content, interviews and guest contributions into Little steps.  Life after all, works best when we are curious, open and flexible. And when we collaborate, share ideas and pull together.

Feel supported

I hope you will enjoy, feel supported and gain benefit from Little steps. We are on this journey together in uncertain and unprecedented times. It is so true however that we are stronger together and now feels the right time to add whatever support I can.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead

I look forward to connecting with you next Friday for our first little step (please feel free to share this sign up link with anyone you feel may benefit)

Most importantly, take care and stay well,
